Triboelectric energy harvesting devices (TEHD) are a popular energy harvesting method that converts mechanical energy wasted in the environment into usable electrical energy. In the case of TEHD, studies on high dielectric constants and flexible polymer materials are mainly conducted is focused. In recent years, many studies have been conducted to improve durability and power in various environments by using composite materials having flexibility, high dielectric constant, heat resistance, and high polarity of ceramics.

We fabricated a device to study TEHD.  In order to increase the output current of TEHD, the electrode and PET were plasma-treated, and this resulted in an increase in output current up to 3.4 times. This result confirmed that the increase of the surface roughness of the electrode and the change in the surface component due to the CFx and CHx polymer generated on the surface can help to improve the output current of TEHD.
